HT-204:
Download the Channels Handled by a Satellite |
|||||||
| Situation |
| The home theatre system is on. The dish is locked on to a satellite, and the TV is showing a channel |
| Procedure |
1 |
Press "M" on the satellite remote control. It is on the upper right of the hand unit. The main menu for satellite administration will come up.
2 |
Use the navigation arrows on the satellite remote control to click down the the "Installation" option. Select it by clicking "OK" in the satellite remote control. A menu of installation options will appear.
3 |
Use the navigation arrows on the satellite remote control to click down the the "TP Edit/Scan" option. Select it by clicking "OK" in the satellite remote control. A menu of satellite scan options will appear. |
||
4 |
Check that the correct satellite is being scanned (though I can't see how it could get the wrong one), and that you are only searching for "free" channels. If you select "free + scrambled" you will pick up hundreds of pay channels that you can't do anything with. Click the "OK" button on the satellite remote and let it scan. It will identify all the active TV and radio channels being transmitted by the satellite and add them to the end of the channel list that it keeps in memory. Note that if the channels are already known from a previous search, then they will still be there. You'll have the same channel at several different sequence numbers in the channel list. I don't know the maximum size of the channel list it can handle, but it is up there in the thousands. |
||
5 |
When the satellite scan is finished (the search tracking parameters shown on the screen are at 100%) then click on "L" on the satellite remote control to get out of administration mode and back to conventional TV. Select a channel from the end of the list in the usual way (procedure HT-205). |
